		<description>I read somewhere recently that the JVM takes bytecode and disassembles it then recompiles the code using hotspot etcetera, this is because the jvm can make better optimizations than javac. If this is so, why bother with bytecode? Why not a scheme VM that takes straight source (or scheme source in a compressed archive format).</description>
